Peace Be With You

Jesus' arrest and crucifixion were such a trying time for the disciples. They were anxious and frustrated, and their emotions flooded their hearts with fear.

They had been traveling around with Jesus for the last three years, and they had forsaken their careers, and they found it hard to imagine that Jesus was no more! They were all frightened and no longer in public spaces as they feared being harassed by the day's leaders.

On the first day of the week, a few disciples gathered the courage to go to the tomb where their Master had been laid, and something strange had happened. Jesus was no longer in the tomb!

"As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples…." Mark 16:5-7

It might have been a challenging task to convince the rest of the disciples that Jesus indeed rose, and Jesus' appearance made a whole lot of difference. His appearance was supernatural as he got into the room where they had shut themselves, and all the windows were shut. He came to them with such an assuring and encouraging message. They needed to know that he is risen indeed, and that settled the issue of the rumor that the leaders were spreading that they had stolen his body, and he released Peace to them.

The resurrection season has been quite different last year and this year due to all that has been happening across the globe and all the predictions people are making about the future. God knows where we are at and what we need, even at a particular season. He wants us to experience that supernatural Peace that lack of a pandemic or a thriving global economy cannot provide. That is the Peace we can experience in the middle of a storm, and it is available anytime we need it. It is also helpful to be reminded that the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is living and operating in us, and he can resurrect anything dead in us!

Shall we embrace the blessings of the Risen Christ and allow him to invade our hearts and flood us with His Peace in any storm we may find ourselves in.

Study Verse: Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27

Shalom! Peace be with you all!
